CRITERIA FOR START’S PARTICIPATION IN RESEARCH

  1. There must be a sound scientific basis, along with a study objective and study design.

 

   2. The study must have short-term or long-term clinical significance for the patients and adolescents receiving care by START.

 

   3. The study must provide for opportunities for START staff to learn from their participation in the form of advancing their clinical skills or participating in presentation of abstracts or in the publication of scientific papers.

   4. The study must be logistically feasible and may not interrupt operations in the provision of clinical care.

   5. While it is preferred that the study provide additional financial support, it must be at least financially neutral (revenues must  meet new expenses).
